Big Love was set in Utah and shot in the Santa Clarita, CA area. The three main house exterior fronts are in a tiny neighborhood in Fillmore, CA. The interiors were built on stage with one big connected backyard. These were very traditional tract houses, painted with traditional ready mix colors. The contrasting world of “the Compound” was shot on stage and in Agua Dulce and Mentryville. Bill’s Home Depot like store was shot in Downey and the offices we built on stage. As the seasons progressed we built a Mexican Compound, a Casino, a Senate Chamber with Offices and for the Final season we did a Utah winter during a Santa Clarita summer.
