These sets were built on stages at Radford. The main house was based on a house I had lived in in Silver Lake when my son was a new born. We tried to make it aspirational, and casual and full of the colors of sun, sand and sea like LA. The initial concept of the show was that these were not typical parents and they were not really ready for a child. We did a terraced backyard typical of hillside LA and not conducive to children’s birthday parties. The house was somewhat idcentury and somewhat ranch full of sharp corners and loose guitar cords, not baby proofed. We also built a contemporary office set and stages for an Oprah like
